DESCRIPTION:
This video/poem was inspired by Messiah's experiences/struggles as an immigrant Black male in Urban America and also from his past 5 years mentoring/teaching incarcerated youth in DC, Baltimore and Rikers Island here in NYC. This particular clip was hosted by Rosario Dawson and HOT 97 for their Voter registration performance contest last year which Messiah succeeded at 1st place!
