Inventor Dr. James West discusses the technology invention contributions of blacks in telecommunication to students. Dr. West himself is a modern day inventor who has made significant contributions to the advancement of telecommunications by inventing the electret microphone used in 98% of microphones today. The invention enabled the miniaturization of all electronic products from music players to cell phones. In this video he provides guidance and motivation to young African American students that they too can become inventors.
