The Ghetto Youths Project in short words, is the result of an unprecedented glimpse into the raw reality of incarcerated youth. This project speaks about the inspirational achievements of a group young men who were driven to turn a inhumane situation into a historic project. In 2005, this group of men, seeking ways in which to redefine convict rehabilitation and social reinsertion methods within the Panamenean correctional system. Started off with the simplest idea of a library and eventually created the unprecedented recording studio. 2 milestones which attributed 'El Renacer' penitentiary with a noticeable decrease in violence and established a new therapeutic way of dealing with anger, love, distress and hope for the inmates within the program. This elicited massive media attention and persuaded the most prominent names in the latin music industry to participate in the project. They started recording collaborations with international guests, filming videos, showcasing concerts, participated in many street DVDs and news reports. Through a hurricane of events, these young men who call themselves GhettoYouths.tv, managed to make history within Latin American correctional systems and we're quite the example for many other countries to follow.
