Glenn Beamon was born January 1, 1989 in Chicago, Illinois. Deem was raised in the Englewood area, on 63rd and Morgan located on the southside of Chicago. Deem was not a fan of Hip-Hop until Cash Money first appeared on the scene. Deem was then inspired to write his first song a few weeks later. Since then Deem has been influenced by Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Big K.R.I.T., T.I., Curren$y, and Slaughterhouse. Deem started taking his career seriously at 18, when he released Liquid Swagger Vol. 1. At that point Deem hadn't really perfected his style. After realizing that the normal commercial "street/ trap rap" style wasn't his calling, he became more refined. His 2011 release of F.T.W. (for the wealth, follow the wise, fear the weirdo) was moderately successful and lead to numerous paid gigs.
