About
What Do You Get When You Mix Pain, Humbleness And Excellent Work Ethic All The Way Around Hip Hop In One Artist….
You get a 29 year old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native by the name of Ikeen “Philly Tha Sixthman” Sherrod who has the ability to write songs with meaning and concept that consist of real life experiences and situations.
You may ask what makes the story of Philly Tha Sixthman different from the story of other artist underground and mainstream. This answer lies within the artist himself:
“My drive is for greatness and giving the world 75 percent of life’s true story. You may ask me why just 75 percent and not 100 percent—lets be real 25 percent of the concept in music today is pure entertainment. So in my case, the 75 percent the world gets from me I want to be the real me inside and out. Not only is this a story to the world but a message to my 8 year old son Tyrieck. I want my son to understand the trades of life and know that life is not a game to be played with, I want him to become the leader I know he can be and not the followers others may want him to be. “A Talk Wit My Son” which I performed at Afr’am Fest 2008, is a song in which I wrote in honor of my son Tyrieck telling him to live his life as a man and not the life of the next man. This was the perfect message through song informing my son of life and also to let him know that he can be a leader in anything he puts his mind and heart into.”
