I am currently a 15-year old Filipino-American Producer/Rapper going by the name of LaynoProd AKA LP the MC that was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I am really into Hip-Hop as a culture itself and I fell in love with graffiti art which later influenced me to create the rap music that I was hearing in graffiti videos (mostly 90s rap.) I started making beats and wrote my first rap song back in the summer of 2011 when I was about 13 and a half years old. Before I got into rap music, I would listen to a lot of old school music from the 70s to 80s such as funk, jazz, R&B, disco, soul, etc. As I entered middle school and high school, I found myself alienated with other kids who seemed to only listen what's "hot" today and mainstream artists who are mainly integrated in Pop culture, contrasting the essence of Hip-Hop culture itself. I wanted to make rap music that was influential, lyrical, and skillful in rhymes/rhyme-schemes. I made beats the same time I started writing rap songs around the same time just by hearing different types of rap music that I'd hear either on 93.5 KDAY, from my older siblings/cousins, and a lot from the Internet. I gained curiosity in the roots of Hip Hop and rap music and started listening to many different old school artists such as Eric B & Rakim, KRS-One, Nas, etc. there are so many to name. I understood what it meant to write rap music that'll inspire other people and also entertain them by the flow and lyricism of the Emcee aspect of rap music.
