Joshua Williams is a groundbreaking songwriter and rapper. He has a musical sound that pays tribute to soul music, hip-hop, neo-soul, pop, rap and R&B. K-DON attributes the development of his phenomenal sounds throughout many famous artists whom has inspired him throughout his journey.
Joshua Williams (AKA K-DON) was born on August 19, 1982 in Ozark, Al. At age 11 years old he was introduce to hip-hop, which changed his world. By the age of 19 he became a father to a beautiful daughter and his life did a whole 360 degrees and things slowed down because he didn’t know how to separate music and family at that time which made life hard for him. Later he met Chris whom introduced him to the producing arena of making beats. Inspired by his grandmother who’s God- fearing woman who sings Gospel and Beverly Williams his mother who sings as well as his two other brothers. His late father was a DJ whom passed in November 2008 became the introduction to K-DON singing career. Through singing helped him to deal with all the problems that were surrounded him, from the killing of drug dealers and street crowds, which became the focal point of distress.
Born from the parent Beverly Williams, he utilized music to over come many barriers throughout his journey of life. Being able to escape from the world of those impossible situations known as barriers, K-DON planted himself into music world, which allowed him to walk through a door of SALVATION. Everything from the music from TI, Tupac, Nas, Mos Def, The Roots,Talib Kwali, Kid Cudi, The Fugges, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Goodie Mobb,M.C. Lyte, Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Twista, Eminem, Outkast, Janelle, Monea, Big Pun, Bubba Sparxxx, UGK, 8 Ball and MJG, e-40, Monie Love, Static Major and Camp LO captured his passion for music.
He’s currently performing local shows, open mics and showcases on a soaring high of advancing performance level. In 2008 he started his own label called “Go Get It Entertainment LLC” and in 2004 K-Don produced four albums listed as “Just My Thoughts,” Krazo’s Legend,” “This is Me” and “Here I Am”
Being motivated to learn the production era of the music industry, he learned the operations of various production programs, which includes the following: Fl Studio9 and Acid Pro 7.
K-DON’s passion for songwriting and singing grasped the concept of singing became his bodyguard from deadly situations. Hip-Hop changed his world because it was something he hadn’t heard and he knew he wanted to do this for life. He started off doing local talent shows which announced his imprint of being an indifferent artist from Alabama with a unique voice and extraordinary style. This unremarkable style allowed him to produce music that will in terms form “AN UNIQUE HIP-HOP STYLE” within the scope of songwriting.
When asked the questions about his expectations in the music industry, his reply states as follows: Being 28 years of age, I’m at the top of my game and still growing I’m willing to work harder to make REAL Music while taking each and everyone on a trip through the mind of a Don and welcoming the world PEACE AND LOVE!
