About
Picture a young eighteen year old whose life revolves around breaking boundaries that our society has established. This seventeen year old happens to be me, a full- time high school scholar, pursuing my passions in entrepreneurship, ministry, and music as an artist. I’m proud to say I am currently the senior class president at Edison High School. Being in a position of leadership at a young age is important to me because I believe that as a budding leader, my leadership skills are still being cultivated.
My character is comprised out of three main elements, faith, determination, and perseverance. I aspire to become a paragon to those who see nothing but boundaries in their lives. With my mother deceased due to ovarian cancer, and my father currently living with cancer, I understand the feeling of living in adverse circumstances. Being placed in such adverse circumstances have not defeated me, but shaped who I am today. My ambition, growth, and perception of life would not exist, if it weren’t for trials and tribulations that I overcame. Though life has its ups and downs, the hard times are the cornerstones that mold our brighter days.
The pivotal factors that keep me moving forward are my long term career goals, my future. I want to become a serial entrepreneur who has established himself in the music and fashion industry on an international scale. My will to succeed is not just for my benefit, but for the minorities all over the world who have been brought up within a culture full of boundaries.
Three accolades that I have attained at this stage in my life include, releasing a solo CD project I completed my junior year in high school, attaining my second degree black belt in taekwondo, and becoming a Duke University LEAD Alumni. Taekwondo taught me self-discipline and perseverance at a young age. It served as a building block that molded my character for six years of my life. Becoming a performing artist and songwriter has taught me how to articulate not just what I’m feeling, but what the multitudes have struggled to articulate. My experience at the Duke University LEAD program changed my life because I discovered avenues I never knew existed. I met young ambitious students from all across the country, took three weeks of college based business courses, and discovered who I was as an individual. I discovered a world that expands far beyond Edison, NJ. My next goal is to successfully find a University where I can earn my Ph.D. in entrepreneurship, and my masters in music business. Now that I have discovered that there is a world out there I haven’t yet explored, my next goal is to travel it. Traveling this new found world is not only going to expand beyond the adverse circumstances we have been placed in, but it is going to be a journey that inspires minorities who have never dared to dream.
