About
Punching above his weight in both the music industry and in the ring, 26 year-old Toronto-native rapper D’NME is honing his craft as a skillfully trained rapper. This unsigned Canadian rapper, performer, recording artist and self-made entrepreneur has over 1 million hits on YouTube with the help of his first hit single “The Stars”, and over 2.8 million hits on his own 9thlawENT Channel respectfully. D’NME has a unique and passionate delivery in the local Battle and Freestyle circuit as he utilizes multi-syllable rhymes assembled to hit the pocket of the beat. This can be seen in D’NME’s earliest singles ‘Put It On Me’ and “44 Bars” which earned him an overwhelming 500,000 plus views on YouTube.
By the summer of 2011, D’NME had increased his exposure and was featured on world-renowned mixtapes with DJ Smallz, DJ Green Lantern, also being featured alongside Hip Hop heavyweights such as Lil’ Wayne, Lloyd Banks, and Jadakiss, just to name a few. Most recently, hosted by DJ Whiteowl, D’NME released his first mixtape this summer entitled “Guns & Roses”. “Guns & Roses” was featured on the top 8 “Most Downloaded” section on datpiff during the month of July. This mixtape also birthed the immensely popular “The Stars”, “Can’t Nobody Do It My Way”, and “Bitter Sweet” which brilliantly showcased his distinguished rapping style, which comes from a wide spectrum of guidance that ranges from 2PAC to Jay-Z, to Foxy Brown and Snoop Dogg. With this being said, it’s discernible why this artist’s first mixtape gained the “gold” status having been downloaded over 100,000 times within a few short months.
Additionally, D’NME’s musical influences and variances of rapid and aggressive rapping styles, which stem from genres such as Rock, Punk Rock, Country, Grunge and R&B, can be seen in his “Shade 45 freestyle” which was featured on Sway Calloway’s morning show on Shade 45/Sirus radio. Because of this plethora of influence, D’NME has created an unparalleled Hip Hop presence. Just this year alone, D’NME was featured on various blogs and sites such as, Hip Hop Vibe, Hiphop24-7news, premierhophop.com , HipHossip.com, Urbanmusichq, NewJams.net and MTV.com. If fostering his own career wasn’t enough, this driven entrepreneur has successfully nurtured and developed his own independent Label, The 9th Law entertainment, in 2010. Through this, D’NME rendered full creative control of his artistic capabilities which has, unlike many artists today, given him the privilege to express himself organically. Recent remixes of Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools” attest to D’NME’s ever growing creative abilities. Accompanying his immensely successful summer 2012, his fans should continue to look out for D’NME’s two singles which are not only being played on the radio in various cities throughout North America, but one of which, “Can’t Nobody Do it My Way” has already snatched the 111th spot on Digital Radio Tracker’s “Top National 200? list. These highly requested singles are only fostering even more attention for his highly anticipated second mixtape entitled, “No Absence of Malice” which was released October 31 2012.
